Boardingology

Change the world. Start with yours!

There will always be someone who cannot see your worth. Don’t let that be you.

What support do you need to make the boarding world much better for you?

There is only one way to get the answers. Ask the question. When I asked the question, the answers all came with the same theme – wellbeing and stress management. So, Boardingology then got to work to start delivering support for you.

It is time to open the door to more wellbeing for you by using tools that work!

"Writing  and using my own WRAP has made a massive difference to me  both personally and professionally. Knowing my triggers, especially at report writing time  and other stressful periods, has allowed me to continue working in boarding rather than taking time off. Taking time off in boarding makes things even more stressful as you live at work and always worry about what people are saying. With a wellness toolbox, knowing my early warning signs and what to do has changed my wellbeing - I only wish I had learnt about this sooner.

It is time to pay it forward!  My mission, is for every boarding practitioner to have a WRAP to stay well in our ever changing boarding world."

Boardingology - Support in the boarding world

What is a WRAP?

WRAP is for anyone, any time. Boarding practitioners, like you, face unique pressures in their roles.

You are often faced with competing priorities and multiple paths forward. The result – your wellbeing is affected.

WRAPS are  helpful for everyone that want to better manage stress , mental health issues and feelings of burnout, such as those employed in helping professions and all areas of school life.

WRAP is also helpful for overwhelmed parents and  those experiencing a range of personal difficulties. Unmanaged stress can have detrimental effects on a person's overall health and well-being.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you feel like you're running on empty?
  • Do you increasingly feel stressed, fatigued or overwhelmed?
  • Are you concerned about your physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual health?
  • Are you recovering from a major boarding incident or trauma as part of your job?
  • Are you experiencing ongoing challenges with your relationships, work or finances?
  • Have you been signed off by the doctor from work this school year?
  • Are you seeking a better way to take care of yourself?
  • Would you like to develop a network of support persons to help you on your wellness journey?

If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, you do not want to miss this opportunity to have a WRAP to support you

It is time for boarding wraparound care to be all about you. Are you ready to be the change in your world?

Whatever you need to move forward, get in touch!

Is the course for you?

You will draw on your own experiences to identify what strategies work for you and through discussion and group work WRAP will help you to organise these into a simple system to help you in your recovery, life or work.

For boarding practitioners who prefer to work alone , specialist one to one courses can be arranged. If your wellbeing has suffered due to a boarding incident, please get in touch as we offer specialist one to one support to help you move forward. In developing your own WRAP, you will;

WRAP

Identify the things you do, have done or could do to help you stay well.

WRAP

Develop a list of the things you need to do every day to maintain your wellness.

WRAP

Create a wellness toolbox.

WRAP

Build action plans for when you experience a personal trigger, external event or circumstances that make you uncomfortable.

WRAP

Identify the early warning signs that may indicate you are not at your best.

WRAP

Create a plan for when things get worse or when you feel in crisis

This course is suitable for boarding practitioners who would like to improve their mental wellbeing and develop strategies to manage uncomfortable feelings that may be created by mental health or life challenges. WRAP is evidence based and does not necessarily replace other treatments, but for many people, using WRAP has greatly improved their recovery and long term health.
